What is Cambridge Wide Open Day?
Cambridge Wide Open Day is an event organised annually by Hauxton-based life sciences and technology firm, o2h Group. The event offers a unique opportunity for ecosystem employers/employees, sci-tech enthusiasts, and residents alike to explore Cambridge’s world-class science and technology facilities, and to meet the people behind the innovations, all in one day.Cambridge Wide Open Day also welcomes visitors from outside Cambridge, around the country, and across the world, who are curious to see what's going on 'inside' Cambridge.
When and where is Cambridge Wide Open Day 2026 taking place?
Cambridge Wide Open Day 2026 will take place across the city of Cambridge on 17th June 2026, as a part of the Cambridge Wide Open Week. The day will conclude with a garden party reception at the o2h co-works labs @Hauxton House, Mill SciTech Park starting at 4 pm.
What is the agenda of the event?
The event starts at 11 am and ends at 3 pm. The general drop-in option allows registered attendees to stop by any of the participating venues between 11 am to 3 pm. The event schedule typically includes various activities such as talks, tours, demos, presentations, and other interactive sessions.
Who can attend the event?
The event is open to everyone, including science and technology enthusiasts, local residents/communities, and anyone interested in exploring the innovation and world-class Cambridge ecosystem.

What can I expect at the event? What is the schedule?
Attendees can expect to visit a variety of organisations, science and tech parks, and companies that are contributing to STEM innovation. Activities include talks, tours, workshops, masterclasses, demos, clinics, presentations, and more.
What kind of companies/venues will be participating?
Some of the pioneering organizations across the Cambridge ecosystem taking part this year again include Cambridge Science Park, Babraham Research Campus, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Milner Therapeutics Institute, Unity Campus, Melbourne Science Park, Astex, TusPark, Cambridge Future Tech, among others. Do I need to sign up or register for the event?
Yes, if you would like to participate and attend, please sign up on the Cambridge Wide Open Day website or email cwow@o2h.com for further information.
What happens when I sign up through the Eventbrite link?
By signing up, you’re expressing your interest in CWOW and some of the events happening throughout the week. This also grants you access to CWOD, so you won’t need to register separately for the Open Day.
When and where will the Garden Party take place?
Our signature garden party reception will be held at the o2h co-work labs @Hauxton House, Mill SciTech Park, on 17th June from 4:00 pm onwards.
Can I attend only the Garden Party without registering for other CWOW/CWOD events?
Yes, you are welcome to attend only the Garden Party. However, we do encourage you to take a look at the wider CWOW and CWOD programme and register for other events that interest you, so you can make the most of the conversations, connections, and experiences taking place across the week.
Do I have to signup separately to attend talks at different venues?
If you would like to attend talks at different venues, no separate sign-up is needed. You can drop in at any of the participating venues to attend the talks, tours, workshops, masterclasses, demos, clinics, presentations, and more. However, there are certain venues that require an additional layer of sign-up for example Babraham Research Centre and Wellcome Genome. If you want to attend the content at these venues, a separate sign-up link will be shared via email a few days before the event. Please see the full schedule to understand the timings of these activities and design your own journey.
Is there a fee to attend the event?
No, the event is free to attend. You can drop in by yourself at any of the participating venues to attend the talks, tours, workshops, masterclasses, demos, clinics, presentations, and more. Please see the full schedule to understand the timings of these activities.
Should I bring ID proof with me?
Yes.
What am I not supposed to do?
Please avoid making unsolicited sales pitches to companies or other attendees. The event is meant for community building, learning and networking.

Is parking available for Garden Party and Talks at the Mill SciTech Park for CWOD?
Yes, parking is available at the Mill SciTech Park, but spaces are limited and subject to availability. As capacity is restricted, we recommend using public transport where possible to help manage parking availability.
What are the parking arrangements at different venues during CWOW?
Parking options may vary by venue as per their capacity and security arrangements. We will shortly update all these details in the full schedule, which will be available on the website.
Are there any transportation options available?
Attendees can use public transportation, personal vehicles, or bicycles to get around the city. More information on transportation and parking may be available in the full schedule or contact cwow@o2h.com.
What is the minibus tour?

Who can take a minibus tour?
The minibus tour is open to all attendees. Spaces may be limited, so be sure to check the event website for sign-up and availability.
What facilities will be covered in the minibus tour?
The minibus tour covers a selection of 3-4 leading venues including science and technology facilities, innovation parks, and other key venues in Cambridge. We will update and share the specific itinerary with all the details 1-2 weeks before the event.
What will be the pick up and drop off locations in the minibus tour?

Are there any age restrictions for attending the event?
Cambridge Wide Open Day is generally open to all ages, but some activities or venues may have specific age restrictions. Please check with venue coordinators.
Will there be any accommodations available for out-of-town attendees?
No, we do not at this point in time provide that facility. Please arrange your itinerary accordingly or reach out to local hotels to know about bookings.
Can I bring my family or friends to the event?
Yes, you are welcome to bring family or friends along. Please make sure everyone registers in advance.
Are there any networking opportunities at the event?
Yes, there will be plenty of networking opportunities throughout the day, including during tours, talks, and the garden party reception. But no sales pitches, please.
