CURATED MINIBUS TOUR

We’re excited to announce that Cambridge Wide Open Day is back for its third season, and so is our popular CWOD Minibus Tour! 🚐✨The Minibus tours that will cover visits to 2-4 CWOD venues including science and business parks. The tours will start from around 10:00 AM, starting from Cambridge Train Station and concluding at Hauxton House for the garden party, which will take place from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

North Route

Here are the full details for the CWOD North Minibus Tour:

 

09:45 am – The CWOD North Minibus Tour will kick off at Cambridge Train Station, taking participants on a curated route through some of the city’s most exciting innovation hubs.

 

10:00 am – The first stop is Co-Labs by Journey, where attendees can enjoy breakfast and engage in a morning of fireside conversations focused on translating UK innovation into sustainable impact.

 

11:00 am – The tour then continues to the St John’s Innovation Centre, featuring a keynote by futurist Tamar Kazriel and sector-focused talks, followed by a networking lunch.

 

1:00 pm – Next, the minibus will head to Allia Future Business Centre, offering an engaging exhibition from SciTech organisations working on real-world solutions for people and the planet.

 

2:00 pm – The fourth stop will be Cambridge Business Park, where visitors can explore campus tours, wellness sessions, and company stands from leaders like STOBBS, BioChrom, and Kier Group.

 

3:00 pm – The final stop will be Mill SciTech Park, where Hauxton House will host the closing sessions of the day, rounding off a vibrant and insight-filled journey across Cambridge’s innovation ecosystem and leading on to the Feel The Buzz Garden Party!

South Route

Here are the full details for the CWOD South Minibus Tour:

 

10:00 AM – The CWOD South Minibus Tour begins at Cambridge Station, taking participants on a dynamic route through the southern innovation hubs of Cambridge.

 

10:30 AM – The first stop is Babraham Research Campus, featuring a campus tour led by Louise Jopling, Chief Scientific & Innovation Officer. Back on the minibus by 11:30 AM, ready for the next stop.

 

11:45 AM – Next, the minibus heads to Unity Campus in Sawston, where attendees can network with leading tenants like Domainex, Phoremost, and Welbeck Health. A highlight here is the insightful talk, “Stay Alive!” by Dr. Claire Gillvray, exploring longevity and proactive healthcare, followed by a quick lunch break. Back on the minibus by 12:45 PM, ready for the next stop.

 

1:OO PM – The journey continues to the Wellcome Genome Campus, including an in-depth tour of the Sanger Institute and talks from technical and scientific leads, as well as insights into the campus’s future expansion. Back on the minibus by 3:10 PM, ready for the next and final stop.

 

3:30 PM – The final destination is Mill SciTech Park, where Hauxton House hosts the concluding sessions of the day, wrapping up a rich exploration of Cambridge’s southern science and innovation landscape and leading to the Feel The Buzz Garden Party.

West & City Centre Route

Here are the full details for the CWOD West & City Centre Minibus Tour:

1:00 pm – Next, the minibus will head to Cambridge Judge Business School offering an engaging talks from1:00 PM with Madeleine Rauch discussing how leaders’ responses to inevitable boredom can shape team morale and progress. At 1:30 PM, Andrei Kirilenko explores the idea that wealth is being transformed by software, urging attendees not to fall behind in this digital shift. At 2:00 PM, Hunter Sims presents the latest research from the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance, offering fresh insights into the evolving financial landscape.
